About the position

As a Hardware Reliability Engineer in the Display/Touch Module Reliability team at Apple, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of new technology components. This position is integral to guiding development teams towards creating reliable designs that meet high standards of quality. Your work will involve identifying high-risk failure modes early in the design life cycle and collaborating closely with design engineering teams to mitigate these risks. You will be responsible for developing new tests based on the physics of failure and expected user behaviors, which are essential for validating product reliability. Additionally, you will deliver test equipment and specifications that are critical for this validation process and work with vendors to ensure that reliability requirements are met. In this role, you will also support failure analysis by providing direction based on your evaluation of test data. Your extraordinary problem-solving abilities will be key to your success, as you will need a strong understanding of the physics behind material and device properties, including mechanical, electrical, and optical aspects. You will be adept in statistical data analysis and clear reporting, with a strong theoretical understanding of physical failure analysis techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX). The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You should be flexible and open to accepting new tasks, embodying a dynamic and proactive attitude as you work with a talented team on innovative products.
