As a member of Apple's Hardware Reliability Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring and enhancing the durability and reliability of Apple's innovative products. This position involves collaboration with diverse iOS hardware engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from the initial concept phase to the analysis of field returns. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing creative reliability tests for new hardware programs, quantifying reliability risks, and supporting failure analysis that arises from these tests. You will also be responsible for advising the executive team on the best strategies to mitigate risks and improve product reliability. In this role, you will develop new reliability test procedures and specifications, preparing detailed test plans and analyzing the resulting test reports. A significant part of your responsibilities will include statistically analyzing data to provide comprehensive design risk assessments. You will present your findings, including tests, test results, and risk assessments, in a confident and positive manner to cross-functional teams and leadership. Additionally, you will research new technologies to understand unique failure mechanisms and guide design improvements by interacting with various groups to enhance product reliability. Investigating failures during reliability testing to determine root causes and driving effective mitigations will also be key aspects of your role.
