About the position

The Hardware Reliability Developer at ServiceNow is responsible for building hardware-specific tools that enhance system scalability through automation and improve the reliability and performance of the hardware supporting ServiceNow's Enterprise Cloud. This role involves close collaboration with external hardware partners and requires excellent communication skills to facilitate feedback and documentation creation.

Responsibilities

  • Build hardware-specific tools to scale systems through automation.
  • Push for changes that improve reliability and performance of hardware.
  • Collaborate with external hardware partners to develop creative solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation regarding hardware processes and tools.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with enterprise-class server systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in shell scripting and Python, including programming against RESTful APIs.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science.
  • Ability to extrapolate patterns from datasets and build reports that illustrate trends.
  • Excellent communication, conflict management, time management, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience using the ServiceNow platform or ITIL Process and Change Management.
  • Proficiency using version control systems such as Git, SVN.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the ServiceNow Platform is a plus.
  • Experience working in or with operations teams to develop cross-team solutions.
