About the position

Peloton Interactive, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Reliability Engineer to join our team in New York, NY. In this role, you will utilize physics-of-failure and statistical approaches to develop and maintain hardware validation test plans for both new product development and sustaining engineering activities. Your primary goal will be to demonstrate product functionality, reliability, and safety through rigorous testing and analysis. You will perform product verification and validation using both off-the-shelf testing equipment and custom-built machinery, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. As a Hardware Reliability Engineer, you will employ statistical tools and models to analyze the reliability of our products, linking your findings to key business goals such as warranty rates. You will be responsible for writing detailed test reports and effectively communicating results to the broader technical team. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with a global team located in New York, Seattle, and Taiwan, providing test reports and status updates to keep everyone informed. In addition to testing, you will design and build custom automated test rigs and fixtures to interact with various pieces of exercise equipment. Your technical expertise will be essential as you work alongside technicians to implement various testing activities, offering support and mentorship as needed. You will also be tasked with building and maintaining standard operating procedures for tests, equipment operation, and maintenance activities. Conducting teardowns, troubleshooting, and diagnosing system failures will be part of your responsibilities, as well as working multi-functionally with the broader Quality and Hardware teams to complete test and data analysis activities for one or more product development programs. Some travel to Peloton offices may be required to facilitate collaboration and testing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Two years of experience in the job offered or in a related field.
