About the position

Wing is seeking a Hardware Reliability Lead to join the Design for Excellence (DFX) team in Palo Alto, CA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and robustness of hardware products throughout their lifecycle. The individual will spearhead the development and implementation of reliability testing programs, conduct failure analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and durability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full scope of hardware reliability engineering at Wing.
  • Design and execute test plans for new and existing hardware, including environmental testing and stress testing.
  • Conduct thorough failure analysis of hardware components and systems.
  • Develop and manage ongoing reliability testing programs to continuously monitor product reliability.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to improve product reliability based on test results and failure analysis.
  • Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, failure analysis engineers, and technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in hardware reliability engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with various reliability testing equipment and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in reliability engineering methodologies such as FMEA, FTA, and Weibull analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Reliability Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics, automotive, or aerospace industries.
  • Proficiency in SQL, MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages for data analysis and test scripting.
