As a Hardware System Electrical Engineer (Baseband HW Design) at Apple, you will be part of a dynamic team that plays a crucial role in the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and integration of wireless baseband systems across all Apple products. This position is situated within the Hardware Technology group, which is known for its diversity and innovation. You will collaborate with world-class architects and IC designers to develop next-generation wireless chipsets, focusing on various aspects such as Power, Digital, Analog, and Clock Management. Your responsibilities will span from the architectural phase through to product announcement, ensuring that all components function seamlessly together. In this role, you will be responsible for driving schematics, layout, and chipset bring-up for both development and form factor hardware. You will conduct SIPI (Signal Integrity and Power Integrity) simulations and validations to ensure the reliability and performance of your designs. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with multi-functional teams to address hardware, software, and coexistence issues that arise from the scale and volume of Apple products. You will also leverage the support of leading contract manufacturers during the prototype phase, ensuring that your designs are not only innovative but also manufacturable at scale. Your core deliverables will include conducting SIPI simulations, designing power management systems, managing clock designs, and integrating wireless systems. You will also be involved in schematic design, PCB layout, and the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) for both development platforms and consumer products. Additionally, you will perform failure analysis on wireless systems during prototype testing, ensuring that any issues are identified and resolved promptly. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of wireless technology, contributing to the evolution of Apple’s product offerings.
