About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Hardware Design / Systems Engineer Lead to join the Mission Systems team. This role involves leading the development of Advanced Processing systems and subsystems, ensuring technical integrity and quality throughout the hardware development lifecycle. The engineer will utilize Digital Transformation practices, including model-based engineering and Agile development, to drive innovation and define product capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or System Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years or more of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Strong Leadership experience including leading diverse teams.
  • Experience leading hardware design efforts including requirements derivation through product integration support.
  • Knowledge of the full product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with collaborating with all engineering disciplines and program personnel and participation in cross functional product development.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance to at least the Secret level.

  • DOD customer experience
  • Experience with designing / developing / integrating advanced processing systems
  • Experience with DO-254 and/or DO-178 design certification
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to brief technical / program information to internal and external audiences
  • Drive execution through a DevSecOps approach, leveraging Model-Based System Engineering and Agile approaches
  • Experience with DOORS and DOORS NextGen

Responsibilities

  • Leading product development activities and providing technical guidance, including requirements derivation through product integration support.
  • Supporting overall organizational process compliance, including the Systems Engineering and Hardware Development Process Implementation.
  • Ensuring the technical integrity and completeness of deliverables, and ensuring cost and schedule commitments are met.
  • Managing customer interfaces and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Leveraging Digital Transformation tools to enhance development processes.
