We are currently seeking talented engineers and technical leaders to join our AirPods System HW team, which is composed of exceptional electrical engineers. This team is responsible for delivering innovative electronic solutions that enhance our customers' experiences with music and communication. The small form factor of our products allows us to innovate across various aspects of product development, including advanced physical architectures, new RF technologies, and highly power-optimized integrated circuit (IC) development. Our diverse team shares a passion for audio, music, and product development, and we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the industry. In this role, you will take ownership of system hardware development, which includes driving product architectures, overseeing PCB and flex design, and influencing optimized system validation plans. You will also be responsible for reviewing manufacturing test requirements, prototype bring-up and testing, data analysis, and issue debugging. As part of your responsibilities, you may need to travel to support manufacturing processes. Experienced team members will have the opportunity to lead technical aspects of product development, collaborating closely with peers and managing small teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive product architectures for system hardware development.
• Oversee PCB and flex design processes.
• Influence and optimize system validation plans.
• Review manufacturing test requirements for products.
• Conduct prototype bring-up and testing activities.
• Perform data analysis and issue debugging.
• Lead technical aspects of product development and collaborate with peers.
• Manage small teams of engineers to achieve project goals.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a hands-on electrical engineer in designing high volume products from proof of concept to mass production.
• Expertise in board and flex designs including schematic and layout with strong abilities to implement to a timeline and deliver high quality designs.
• Expertise in prototype bring-up, electrical measurements, debugging, and functional verification.
• Solid electrical engineering fundamentals covering both analog and digital concepts such as power and data converters, amplifiers, high-speed serial and memory interfaces, digital logic, RF/wireless, and signal integrity.
• Experience working with technology, software, reliability, manufacturing, and operations organizations is desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are desired.
• Experience leading or managing small teams of four to five people is desirable.

• Experience in the wearable or consumer electronics industry is desirable.
