About the position

The Hardware System Integration Engineer at Google will be part of a diverse team focused on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. This role involves shaping the next generation of hardware experiences, ensuring performance, efficiency, and integration in products that are loved by millions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and implement new technologies, contributing to Google's mission of making information universally accessible and useful.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and select components and new technologies for next generation products based on product outlook and end-user experiences.
  • Lead new design concepts and features through exploration, prototyping, and implementation to mass production.
  • Create system specifications and plan/lead validation of your designs.
  • Lead complete functional verification, signal characterization, power modeling/test, and system coexistence testing.
  • Drive resolution of cross-functional issues including those related to architecture, production, and development.
  • Work with and manage suppliers/manufacturing partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships for future product designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with system development in consumer electronics/embedded design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: SOC/MCU, power (DC-DC converters, battery and power management), charging systems, mixed circuits, sensor integration.
  • Experience with various communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, USB, MIPI-DSI), standard Radio Frequency (RF)/Wi-Fi interfaces at chipset, baseband, and antenna integration levels.
  • Experience with system integration between hardware and software domains.
  • Experience working with OEM/ODM/JDM/CM partners, understanding of product development process for mass-volume production design, with focus on design for manufacturing and design for test.
