About the position

The Hardware Systems Engineer for Biophotonics at Apple is responsible for designing and building innovative prototype hardware systems. Responsibilities

• Build proof-of-concept and prototype hardware and design EE solutions such as circuits, tests, or calibration procedures to meet functional and performance objectives.
• Perform schematic capture, review layout, and create and execute bring-up and validation plans for complex, mixed-signal PCBs.
• Collaborate within EE and with the cross-functional team to perform failure analysis and investigate root-cause for issues in optoelectronic systems.
• Develop automation for validation, testing, and characterization of PCBs.

Requirements

• Experience in hardware design and engineering, particularly in mixed-signal PCB design.
• Strong skills in schematic capture and layout review.
• Ability to develop and execute validation and testing plans for complex systems.
• Experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting of optoelectronic systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with automation tools for testing and validation.
• Experience in biophotonics or related fields.
