About the position

Meta is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer to join the Release to Production (RTP) team, responsible for the hardware lifecycle of all Meta servers. This role involves hands-on system and hardware debugging, stress testing, and ensuring production-ready system monitoring. The RTP Silicon squad focuses on delivering scalable and reliable custom ASIC solutions to meet data center needs, requiring a systems-based approach to silicon bring-up and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with end users to understand system use cases to guide validation.
  • Ensure tight loops between hardware qualification and final application use models.
  • Focus on volume and velocity of qualifications for rapid production ramp-up.
  • Engage in all aspects of silicon productization from architecture and design inputs to post-silicon characterization.
  • Support the architecture team with insights from performance and power characterization.
  • Collaborate with the verification team to enable comprehensive pre and post-silicon test plans.
  • Write tests, create bare metal operating systems, and enable frameworks for scalable testing.
  • Conduct extensive functional and electrical characterization over various conditions.
  • Build and maintain extensive lab automation.

Requirements

  • BS or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in hands-on SW/FW/HW engineering for datacenter environments or similar.
  • 6+ years of experience with troubleshooting analytics of server/systems architecture and components.
  • 6+ years of experience in developing test specifications, procedures, and debug guides.
  • 6+ years of experience with modules/domains such as PCIe, Networking, Flash, Memory, CPU, GPU, DRAM.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of experience in ASIC Design, Development or Validation.
  • Experience in integrating lab tools for automated workflows.
  • 4+ years of experience with Linux systems and server systems management.
  • 4+ years of experience with modules/domains like Serdes, characterization, emulation, logic design.
  • 3+ years of experience with embedded systems' architecture and performance optimization.
  • Experience with debugging tools for systems-on-chip (SoCs).
  • Knowledge of common bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, and/or PCIe.
  • Experience with Tool Chains: VCS, Palladium, Protium, Zebu, Veloce, Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys.
