About the position

As a Hardware Systems Engineer at Onto Innovation, you will play a crucial role in the development and sustaining of advanced semiconductor equipment designs. Your primary responsibilities will include performing experiments, tests, and analytical investigations to provide clear and meaningful results. You will compile and assist in the presentation of test data collected during design validations to a peer group of engineers, ensuring that all findings are communicated effectively. You will work as an integral part of the Engineering team, investigating and troubleshooting complex electrical machine-vision systems with a focus on electronics. This may involve working with firmware, optics, mechanics, and software to ensure the systems operate efficiently. Additionally, you will perform failure analysis and root cause analysis as required, contributing to the continuous improvement of our products. As you evolve into the position of a product specialist for bare wafer inspection systems, you will gain significant expertise in all areas of these products, from mechanical design to user software. Your contributions will also include design documentation to support compliance evaluations needed to meet industry regulations such as CE, SEMI, ISO, OSHA, and NFPA. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently, driving sub-projects on your own while collaborating with a diverse team of engineers.
