About the position

Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta), formerly known as Facebook Inc., is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the hardware lifecycle of servers, which includes hands-on system and hardware debugging, as well as stress testing during the pre-production phase. You will play a crucial role in enabling production-ready system monitoring, automated provisioning, and automated remediation of issues that may arise. Your work will involve testing systems before they are released to production data centers and tracking the health and lifecycle of servers once they are in production. As a Hardware Systems Engineer, you will deliver scalable and reliable custom ASIC solutions tailored to meet the needs of our data centers. Collaborating with end users will be essential to understand system use cases, which will guide your validation efforts. You will ensure that there are tight loops between hardware qualification and final application use models, identifying the volume and velocity of qualifications to facilitate the fastest possible ramp to production. Your responsibilities will also encompass all aspects of silicon productization, including early architecture and design inputs, pre-silicon validation, bring-up, and post-silicon characterization. You will be tasked with writing tests, creating bare metal operating systems, and enabling frameworks that allow for reuse and scale testing from pre-silicon platforms to multiple ASICs during the post-silicon phase. Additionally, you will work on functional and electrical characterization over various conditions such as temperature, process corner, and voltage. Building and maintaining extensive lab automation will also be a key part of your role. This position allows for telecommuting from anywhere in the US, providing flexibility in your work environment.
