The Hardware Systems Integration Engineer (Battery & Charging - iPhone) role at Apple involves working within a world-class engineering team to develop innovative battery and charging solutions for iPhone products. This position focuses on hardware design, system integration, and collaboration with cross-functional partners to achieve product goals related to cost, thermal performance, battery life, reliability, and environmental impact. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and PCB design, with opportunities for international travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop system solutions for wired and wireless charging initiatives across iPhone products.
• Design integration solutions across battery, flex, PCB, and silicon.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to meet product goals in cost, thermal performance, battery life, reliability, and environmental impact.
• Analyze solutions and make system design trade-offs.
• Participate in architecture, design, and execution of battery and charging initiatives.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with electrical system integration involving product-focused module and operational collaboration.
• Experience with schematic capture and rigid/flexible PCB layout.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of industry experience or 2+ years of project lead experience.
• Exposure to solving unwanted coupling and interference between subsystems.
• Experience in design of complex system architectures.
• Understanding of low voltage power regulation and delivery.
• Experience in prototype design and validation of custom silicon.
• Familiarity with challenges of taking a product from early architecture to production.
• Hands-on experience with lab test equipment to debug hardware issues.
• Ability to use scripting languages to assist with hardware development.
