About the position

The Apple Home group is seeking an enthusiastic hardware engineer to join their team, focusing on the design and development of complex hardware systems for future Apple products. This role involves defining electrical system architectures, hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging, and prototyping, requiring both independent detail design work and a high-level understanding of systems.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of electrical architecture and implementation
• Schematic creation and layout responsibility
• Bringup and debug of hardware systems
• Hardware validation
• Prototyping proof of concepts

Requirements

• BS in electrical engineering or computer engineering required
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience focusing on hardware system design
• Strong working experience in electrical design, including component selection, circuit design, schematic capture, component placement and PCB/flex layout
• Excellent EE fundamentals and analog design knowledge focusing on DC/DC, power and signal integrity and SPICE simulations
• Knowledge of embedded processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, CAN, SPI, storage, high speed serial)
• Strong working knowledge of best practices for PCB/flex layout and construction
• Proven experience in taking designs from concept to mass production
• Hands on experience with test equipment including oscilloscope, multi-meters and more for prototype bring-up, debugging and functional validation
