About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Apple focuses on electrical system design validation within the Accessories Hardware Engineering team. The role involves leading validation processes and strategies throughout various stages of design and development, from silicon and systems architecture to prototyping and manufacturing. The successful candidate will contribute to the design of next-generation accessories that integrate innovative technologies and emphasize low power electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accessories EE hardware validation and verification strategy, providing technical leadership when required.
• Develop processes to ensure end-to-end validation of the product and its functionality for various use cases and environmental conditions.
• Own the development of test fixtures within the team or through contract manufacturers.
• Analyze and track test results, working on trade-offs to resolve design conflicts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a multi-functional team.
• Experience in functional testing and validation of electrical systems, as well as hardware/software integration and fault tree analysis.
• Experience with test automation tools and programming languages such as Python, Tableau, and JMP.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or PhD degree.
• Experience in EE schematics and hardware design.
• Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging.
• Experience with various data protocols: USB, UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, SWD.
• Experience in DC/DC power design, microcontrollers, USB-PD, wireless charging, and sensing technologies.
• Experience with custom silicon development.
• Experience in modeling and simulation of electrical systems.
