About the position

The Hardware Systems Validation Engineer at Apple is responsible for leading the validation and verification strategy for electrical systems in accessories. This role involves developing processes for end-to-end validation, analyzing test results, and ensuring product functionality across various use cases and environmental conditions. The engineer will work closely with a hands-on development team to push the boundaries of low power electrical design and integrate innovative technologies into next-generation accessories.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accessories EE hardware validation and verification strategy.
• Develop processes to ensure end-to-end validation of products and their functionality.
• Own the development of test fixtures within the team or through contract manufacturers.
• Analyze and track test results, working on trade-offs to resolve design conflicts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong EE fundamentals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well multi-functionally.
• Experience in functional testing and validation of electrical systems.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and fault tree analysis.
• Experience with test automation tools and programming languages such as Python, Tableau, JMP.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or PhD degree.
• Experience in EE schematics and hardware design.
• Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging.
• Experience with various data protocols: USB, UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, SWD.
• Experience in DC/DC power design, microcontrollers, USB-PD, wireless charging, sensing technologies.
• Experience with custom Silicon development.
• Experience in modeling and simulation of electrical systems.
