About the position

The Electronics/Hardware Technician role at Volt Workforce Solutions involves supporting product development and sustaining engineering activities. The technician will perform testing, troubleshooting, and modification of electronic products and prototypes, working from schematics and defined plans. This position requires hands-on experience with various electronic testing equipment and a strong understanding of electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Support product development and sustaining engineering activities.
• Perform testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic products and prototypes.
• Conduct operational tests and troubleshoot or isolate faults on systems and equipment.
• Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Help design, construct, test, and check-out of test equipment.
• Use manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and thermal chambers.
• Identify, research, and implement quality and process improvement ideas.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent knowledge.
• Certified Electronics Technician or comparable certification.
• 3+ years of related engineering product development lab experience.
• Proficient in using lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
• Experience with soldering and surface mount technology down to component level.
• Validation test experience including environmental tests, electrical noise tests, certification tests, and functional tests.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and co-workers.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Python and/or electrical standards (CE, eMark).
