The Hardware Test Automation Engineer is responsible for defining and developing test cases in accordance with product test plans. This role involves implementing the test cases either as manual procedures or automated tests. The engineer will design, develop, and modify automated product test suites to meet the company's release objectives. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the GE Vernova CIC RF Product lines and the ability to read and fully understand documentation and engineering specifications provided by customers or that are publicly available. In this role, the engineer will assist in the development of new engineering Test Plans specific to Hardware and provide input and review of existing Product Hardware Test Plans. They will expand defined Product Test Plans into comprehensive test cases and perform these test cases either manually or through automation to validate against specific product requirements. The engineer will create and configure test environments, including but not limited to LabVIEW, Test STAND, and Robot Framework, and will perform tests and experiments to validate or recreate customer-reported issues. The engineer will report product defects into the Jira Database, utilize the Jira system to track work activities, and document test cases and manual test procedures using Jira. They will also develop and maintain specific product automated test suites, develop test suites within RobotFramework, and maintain existing automation developed previously in LabVIEW. The engineer will execute all tests developed (both manual and automated) and report results in Jira, while also maintaining the lab environment for the engineering organization, including equipment calibrations and repairs.
