About the position

As a Hardware Test Engineer at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will play a crucial role in the Computer Engineering and Hardware integration activities that support highly complex Training Systems. This position requires a proactive approach to leading hardware engineering efforts, overseeing specifications, installation, troubleshooting, equipment management, and providing mentorship to team members. You will be part of a dynamic team of driven and highly skilled professionals, working collaboratively to ensure the successful delivery of training devices. Your responsibilities will include leading the design, installation, and integration of hardware and software components, ensuring that all systems function seamlessly to meet training requirements. In this role, you will support the Computer Hardware engineering effort for training systems by reviewing and producing detailed specifications for proposed hardware solutions. You will lead the team in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer or computer-related equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, tracking, and managing all equipment and deliverables, including drawings, manuals, reports, labeling, and inventory. Interaction with both internal and external personnel will be essential to ensure timely product delivery, and you will also provide mentorship and training to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team. Responsibilities

  • Support the Computer Hardware engineering effort for training systems.
  • Review and produce detailed specifications for proposed hardware solutions.
  • Lead team for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer or computer-related equipment.
  • Develop, track, and manage all equipment and deliverables (Drawings, manuals, reports, labeling, inventory).
  • Interact with internal and external personnel to ensure product delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and training.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • BS/BA degree and 8 years experience
  • MS Windows experience
  • Experience installing, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining computer equipment, peripherals, audio visual equipment.
