About the position

The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Test Engineer role at Actalent involves engaging with various hardware systems, troubleshooting, and improving test benches while collaborating with software engineers. The position requires a strong understanding of hardware architecture and the ability to document and report on system functionality and issues.

Responsibilities

• Building and troubleshooting HiL benches, including complicated wire harnesses, high-performance computers, and sensors.
• Documenting the hardware architecture for HiL benches, including architecture drawings, detailed hardware drawings, and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
• Interfacing with software engineers both internal and external to the team to ensure proper functionality of the HiL benches.
• Providing on-call support for bench issues during software testing.

Requirements

• Experience designing and developing HiL (hardware in the loop) and SiL (software in the loop) test systems from a hardware-focused perspective.
• Hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, and configuration of electrical hardware.
• Strong hardware drawing/documentation skills.
