About the position

The Hardware UX Researcher will support the New Product Experimentation team at a leading technology company. This role involves conducting various research methods to evaluate current mixed reality product performance and inform future virtual reality product development. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences, contributing to the product development cycle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research using qualitative and some quantitative methods, including remote and in-home interviews, diary studies, in-lab studies with novel hardware prototypes, and ethnographic observation.
• Work closely with partners in hardware engineering, industrial design, product management, and privacy & security to understand the user problem space.
• Effectively communicate and present research findings to product teams and executive leadership.
• Collaborate with researchers, designers, PMs, and engineers to define and deliver meaningful products.
• Lead various research studies throughout all phases of the product development cycle.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in hardware products and/or virtual/mixed reality products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and customer service experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience with storytelling to engage various audiences.
• Strong mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
