About the position

The Hardware UX Researcher will support the New Product Experimentation team at a leading technology company. This role involves conducting various research methods to evaluate current mixed reality product performance and inform future product development. The researcher will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of user needs and effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research using qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, diary studies, in-lab studies, and ethnographic observation.
• Work closely with partners in hardware engineering, industrial design, product management, and privacy & security to understand user problems.
• Communicate and present research findings to product teams and executive leadership.
• Collaborate with researchers, designers, PMs, and engineers to deliver meaningful products.
• Lead research studies throughout all phases of the product development cycle.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in hardware products and/or virtual/mixed reality products.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience in storytelling to engage various audiences.
• Ability to make autonomous decisions and balance demands.
• Strong mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
