About the position

The Hardware Validation Engineer will be responsible for testing, identifying, and resolving system-level hardware design issues for new Mac hardware products. This role involves hands-on execution of validation testing, working closely with multi-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality hardware experiences for customers. The position requires a strong commitment to innovation and collaboration within the hardware validation team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct validation testing of system hardware designs.
• Identify and resolve system-level hardware design issues.
• Maintain the physical test environment and test hardware setup used in validation testing.
• Track, analyze, and report critical test data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software/Firmware, System Hardware, and Silicon teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system hardware or embedded hardware testing.
• Ability to review architecture and silicon documents to develop validation plans.
• Experience in maintaining physical test environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in debugging failures with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to design and define new validation strategies and detailed test plans.
• Working knowledge of computer architecture and IO protocols (USB, I2C, PCIe).
• Familiarity with system power management and testing.
• Experience in developing and optimizing test frameworks and tools for large scale validation.
• Experience in crafting software checks for behavior comparison against specifications.
• Previous experience in post-silicon validations.
• Test automation experience and large scale testing.
