About the position

The Hardware Validation Engineer at Actalent will work closely with design teams to develop and execute validation plans in a laboratory environment. This role involves hands-on testing, both manual and automated, to ensure the functionality and reliability of electrical subsystems. The engineer will also analyze test reports to identify issues and perform debugging and tuning of custom hardware.

Responsibilities

• Work with design teams to develop validation plans
• Execute hands-on validation in a lab environment
• Perform manual test setups using common lab equipment
• Run automated testing using various test platforms and test suites
• Review and analyze test reports to identify design or test setup issues
• Perform functional verification of electrical subsystems
• Debug/tune custom hardware

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of overall experience in validation/test experience
• Experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting skills in a laboratory environment
• Experience with prototyping solutions and bench testing methodology and proficiency in operating common lab equipment
• Experience with test automation with background in scripting
• Experience working in a laboratory environment
• Experience with EE fundamentals

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with audio, power supplies, video, cameras, I2C/SPI/UART buses, and high-speed electrical signal characterization
• Automation experience (i.e. shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
• Experience with battery powered, wireless, embedded HW/SW consumer devices
