About the position

The Perishables Representative at H-E-B is a part-time role focused on providing excellent customer service while maintaining a well-stocked and sanitary department. This position involves preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products daily, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers. The role emphasizes teamwork, commitment, and a passion for quality service.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to customers in person and over the phone.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of display cases and equipment.
• Assist in technical areas as needed, including slicing, packaging, and labeling products.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and increase sales.
• Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist in various departments such as Aguas, Floral, Market, Produce, and Seafood as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Knowledge of computer systems (Telxon, ACR, label machine).
• Planning and organizing skills.
