About the position

The Harmony Square Director (HSD) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Harmony Square neighborhood, ensuring compliance with community standards and state regulations. This role focuses on resident safety, behavior management, and the implementation of life enrichment programs that promote wellness across various dimensions. The HSD will lead a team, develop engaging programs for residents, and maintain a supportive environment for both residents and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Harmony Square neighborhood.
  • Manage non-clinical compliance with community standards and state regulations.
  • Conduct interviews, orientation, coaching, and ongoing training of team members.
  • Supervise Harmony Square team members in conjunction with the Healthcare Director.
  • Develop and implement purposeful resident programs to enrich lives.
  • Coordinate with the Life Enrichment Director for monthly planning meetings.
  • Plan and schedule weekly outings and activities based on wellness dimensions.
  • Lead high-quality, innovative programs daily.
  • Assess resident needs in partnership with the clinical team and initiate interventions as necessary.
  • Participate in Resident/Family Care Conferences and Family Call Program.
  • Utilize local community resources to enhance resident engagement.
  • Maintain a stimulating and safe environment in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Ensure dining aspects meet resident needs in partnership with dining services.
  • Complete state-required care plans and service plans for residents.
  • Partner with local organizations for support group meetings.
  • Complete necessary training to drive company vehicle.
  • Lead daily huddles and complete neighborhood rounds.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience; areas of study include Recreation, activities, geriatrics, and dementia care.
  • Three to five years' experience working with individuals with Dementia, including leading programs and managing behavior expression.
  • Dementia training or Certified Dementia Practitioner preferred or eligible for certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience supervising and managing staff with critical thinking skills.
  • Experience organizing and planning programs for seniors with Dementia.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good physical condition to perform tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
