Harvest Field Supervisor

About the position

The Harvest Field Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and evaluating crop harvest activities to achieve optimal production costs while maximizing yield and quality. This role involves building relationships with growers and contractors, scheduling harvests, and ensuring compliance with safety and food quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate crop and estimate harvest time based on seasonal conditions.
• Assess and schedule harvest picks to optimize production costs and yield.
• Build and maintain relationships with growers, labor contractors, and trucking companies.
• Communicate harvest picks, volumes, and shipment timings with the field manager.
• Coordinate harvest schedules with growers and maintain accurate records.
• Travel to assigned regions to assess harvest and schedule picks accordingly.
• Discuss crop-growing activities with management to determine operational sequences.
• Ensure harvest crews are available by coordinating with contractors.
• Utilize new technology and processes to enhance efficiencies and fruit utilization.
• Promote a safe work environment and comply with safety standards.
• Support food safety and quality standards implementation.
• Demonstrate supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of related experience in a similar industry.
• Thorough knowledge of field management processes and techniques.
• Ability to plan and direct large-scale harvest activities.
• Good analytical, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Basic knowledge of standard office equipment and software.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Operational knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Farming or agricultural background is a plus.
