About the position

The Harvest Supervisor at Greater Omaha Packing Co., Inc. is responsible for managing the workforce in beef processing production operations, ensuring production meets quality objectives while maintaining safety standards. This role involves overseeing the Offal area and other harvest sections, coordinating personnel, conducting inspections, and managing waste control, all while fostering a cohesive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Offal area and other harvest areas, evaluating products and administering corrective procedures.
  • Coordinate attendance issues and personnel to fill vacant positions, minimizing turnover rates.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections, set up production equipment, and submit maintenance work orders as needed.
  • Maintain food and work safety regulations.
  • Provide a cohesive working environment by greeting and speaking with personnel.
  • Audit product and employee safety throughout the shift.
  • Control waste by minimizing products sent to inedible and ensuring a sanitary working environment.
  • Process post-operational attendance information from the Paycor system.
  • Conduct monthly line meetings to address department issues or concerns.
  • Make personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions for direct reports.
  • Maintain acceptable yield levels on all products on all carcasses.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years of production experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of meat processing and job specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, and French preferred but not required.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in various forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
