About the position

The Hatchery Worker at Perdue Farms is responsible for various tasks within the hatchery, primarily focusing on the transfer and processing crews. This role requires adherence to safety and quality standards while performing duties related to egg handling and chick processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in all areas of the hatchery as assigned.
• Tray eggs from farm racks or cases into incubator racks.
• Load incubators according to schedule.
• Clean and disinfect incubators, hatchers, egg room, processing room, and hatchery equipment.
• Transfer eggs from incubators to Hatcher trays as part of the Transfer Team following SOPs.
• Assist in all chick processing functions.
• Monitor machines and equipment for proper operation and document findings, making adjustments as necessary or informing the supervisor of deficiencies.
• Perform minor maintenance duties as required.
• Observe all company personnel, safety, quality, and food safety policies.
• Adhere to all safety rules including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently.
• Good mechanical abilities.
• Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures.

• Base rate of $18.05 - $18.35 per hour with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials, and overtime.
