About the position

Join a team of dedicated professionals in the Safety & Risk Management and Workers' Compensation Unit at NCDOT. This internship offers hands-on experience in occupational safety, employee well-being, and workers' compensation processes. You'll gain valuable insights into the role of safety and risk management in a large organization, working closely with professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with projects aimed at improving safety protocols and organizational workflows
  • Support the Workers' Compensation Unit with case management and reporting
  • Conduct research and compile data for safety-related initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and mitigate risks
  • Participate in daily feedback sessions and Q&A opportunities with the supervisor

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time student in a bachelor's, master's, or professional level program at an accredited institution
  • Must have completed 24 credit hours
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Pursuing studies in Business, Occupational Safety & Health, or related fields
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for workplace safety
