The Hyperbaric & Wound Safety Coordinator is responsible for at-the-elbow clinical support and the clinical development of nursing staff in the role, in the hyperbaric oxygen therapy setting. This position includes staffing in both the wound center and in hyperbaric therapy. This position will also assist with in-patient wound services as needed. The position includes facilitation of high-quality patient care and focuses on patient safety in both the wound and hyperbaric setting. Goals of the position are to improve confidence, skills, and sense of support especially for new hyperbaric nurses to improve both retention and patient outcomes. The position also includes significant chart review and data analysis in addition to implementation of quality improvement metrics in both wound and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
