About the position

The Commissioning Project Manager at Henderson is responsible for overseeing and managing building system commissioning projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule. This role involves coordinating site visits, managing client communications, and leading a team to ensure project success. The position emphasizes a people-first culture and aims to deliver innovative solutions in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and retail.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of commissioning projects.
  • Manage proposals and contracts, ensuring adherence to project management standards.
  • Direct project commissioning and schedules, maintaining project-related documents.
  • Lead and direct the commissioning process, interfacing with design teams and contractors.
  • Mentor and supervise Commissioning Agents and Technicians, fostering their development.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
  • Monitor project quality expectations and ensure deliverables meet objectives.
  • Develop scope of work and fees to mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Degree in Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Construction Engineering/Management preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in MEPF Engineering, Commissioning or TAB required; 12 years required without degree.
  • Basic proficiency in project management standards and execution required.
  • Fundamental understanding of building design and construction principles required.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described in the job description.
  • Industry-specific certifications recommended (ASHRAE, ACG and/or NEBB).

  • Experience with mission-critical projects.
