About the position

The Certification Specialist at Redwood Family Care Network plays a crucial role in managing the initial application and licensing processes for homes that provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for ensuring that all licensing and programmatic requirements are consistently met, adhering to local and state regulations, policies, and laws that govern the provision of quality services. The specialist will work closely with various levels of management, agency officials, and staff to maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, providers, and representatives from the Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Licensing Certifications and Regulations (OLCR) & (OLR). In this role, the Certification Specialist will conduct interviews and evaluate applicants based on their character, family stability, and ability to care for individuals with developmental disabilities. They will manage initial applications, assign specific duties, and monitor all services provided. An organized system for all licensing documentation must be maintained, and the specialist will assist in managing member records as specified by Arizona regulations. The safety of employees and individuals supported is a top priority, and the specialist will act as an agency liaison, working with field supervisors, service providers, state representatives, and licensing authorities as needed. The position requires participation in Person Centered Support Plan (PCSP) team meetings and conducting quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with all standards. The work environment is diverse, requiring tact and discretion in a multi-cultural setting, and the specialist must demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. This role is essential in supporting the mission of Redwood Family Care Network to provide world-class, person-centered services and advocacy for individuals in positive and life-enriching environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the initial application and licensing processes for ADH and CDH licensed homes.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations, policies, and laws.
  • Conduct interviews and evaluate applicants for character and family stability.
  • Maintain an organized system for all licensing documentation.
  • Assist in managing member records as specified by Arizona regulations.
  • Act as agency liaison with field supervisors, service providers, and state representatives.
  • Participate in Person Centered Support Plan (PCSP) team meetings as applicable.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure oversight and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related human services field or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of post-secondary education in a related human services field and two years of directly related work experience, or a minimum of five years of directly related work experience.
  • Experience in the field of developmental disabilities, family home licensing, or child welfare.
  • Knowledge of Arizona Rules and Regulations, state contracts, and Person-Centered Plans.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-3 years of increasing management experience and/or responsibilities.
  • Special training as required by program designs, including contract-required certificates.
