About the position

The HCM Account Executive at Paylocity is responsible for prospecting and developing sales relationships with potential clients in the emerging market, focusing on small businesses. This role involves closing new and expanded sales agreements while working in a competitive, quota-driven environment. The position requires a consultative sales approach, strong prospecting skills, and a passion for the product being sold.

Responsibilities

  • Generate net-new business opportunities leveraging the company's expertise and industry knowledge.
  • Schedule and present Paylocity services to prospective clients.
  • Prepare and present proposals, providing appropriate follow-up throughout the sales process.
  • Organize and obtain documentation required for clients to transition to the Paylocity system.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a smooth client transition.
  • Develop prospects through telemarketing, referrals, and other sources.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the Broker channel and other referral sources.
  • Maintain contact with existing customers to identify needs for additional services.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and events to promote Paylocity services.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a sales position.
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive environment.
  • Ability to maintain high activity standards.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills to handle objections and unexpected situations.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and the Internet.
  • Mobility required for sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Mobility required for driving to prospective client sites.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate a computer keyboard and manipulate small objects.
  • Sensory ability required to see, hear, and touch.
  • Mental effort required for reading, writing, visualization, calculation, and analysis.
