About the position

As a Senior Healthcare Services Business Development Officer at UMB, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our Healthcare Services team, which specializes in delivering innovative healthcare payment solutions. This includes custodial services for health savings accounts (HSAs) and private label, multipurpose debit cards tailored for insurance carriers, third-party administrators, software companies, employers, and financial institutions. UMB Healthcare Services is recognized as one of the top custodians in the country, and as part of this growing team, you will focus on expanding our product offerings and providing customized solutions that meet the unique needs of our partners. Your contributions will be essential to UMB's growth strategy, ensuring that our customers have a seamless relationship for their banking and HSA needs. In this role, you will be responsible for lead generation, prospect identification, and qualification. You will need to thoroughly understand the needs of potential clients and effectively map those needs to the UMB products and services that can enhance their business operations. Your responsibilities will also include managing prospects through the sales and contract cycles, ensuring a smooth transition to the Implementation and Client Experience teams when appropriate. Responsibilities

  • Establish a prospect call plan to identify and generate qualified leads in an established geographic territory.
  • Solicit, coordinate internally, and respond to Request for Proposals (RFP) to obtain new HSA, multipurpose debit card, virtual payment, and other healthcare payment-related business.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals to Healthcare Services prospects and clients.
  • Provide support to internal teams such as Implementation and Client Experience during the transition of prospects to clients.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience in the healthcare payments industry with a solid understanding of healthcare tax-advantaged programs and card/transaction processing.
  • At least eight (8) years of prior sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business leads with a focus on revenue generation and profitability.
