About the position

The position involves providing basic, quality patient-focused care in a clinical setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role includes performing clerical tasks, coordinating nursing unit activities, and assisting with daily patient care, ensuring adherence to state regulations and standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under the supervision of an RN.
• Perform clerical and system coordination for nursing units.
• Assist RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
• Measure and document vital signs and patient data in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Perform purposeful rounding and communicate patient needs to RN.
• Assist with nutritional needs and maintain skin integrity of patients.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed by RN.
• Practice infection prevention and maintain proper hygiene protocols.
• Coordinate tests and treatments with various departments.
• Facilitate communications required to support patient care.
• Compile necessary chart forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Establish and maintain positive customer relations.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of patient care principles and practices.
• Ability to perform clerical tasks and coordinate activities in a nursing unit.
• Experience in assisting with daily patient care activities.
• Proficiency in measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data.
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
