About the position

The Head Audio position at Spiegelworld is responsible for overseeing the audio crew and managing the daily operations of audio equipment for live performances at Atomic Saloon in Las Vegas. This role involves maintaining audio equipment, collaborating with various departments to ensure the artistic vision of the show is upheld, and participating in safety training. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day to day operation of Audio equipment and console
  • Inspecting and maintaining audio equipment to ensure safe and consistent operation, including cleaning and routine maintenance
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace
  • Weekly Schedule of audio needs in collaboration with Production Manager
  • Working closely with the Sound Designer, Resident Director, Production Manager, and other Department Heads to maintain the artistic vision of the show
  • Maintaining documentation of show cues, cue track, and the sound rig, as directed
  • Aiding in the evolution of the production by making changes to show flow as required
  • Training additional operators to maintain coverage for department
  • Tracking consumables and spares that are applicable to the department and requesting restocking orders from the Production Manager in a timely manner
  • Supporting special events, including installation of new audio show elements
  • Collaborating with other departments as needed to run performances and rehearsals
  • Participating in all required safety and emergency rescue trainings, as directed
  • Establish trust-based relationships with the performers
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in Professional Theatrical environments
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the crew leadership role
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • An Ideal candidate will provide evidence of continuing education in associated fields
  • Knowledge of networking, gain staging, basic electronics troubleshooting, and show control such as MIDI, LTC/MTC, or OSC
  • Experience with programming and operating QLab, Dante audio networking, Yamaha digital consoles, RF coordination with Shure Wireless Workbench, and digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic, or other DAWs
  • Current OSHA 10 and ability to maintain proper safety and sanitation standards
  • Use of Microsoft Suite as well as being generally computer savvy
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail and organization, and a collaborative attitude
  • Ability to exhibit extreme patience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented and self-motivated
  • Passion for ensuring you consistently deliver the highest standards
  • Successful reference & background check clearance prior to hire
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.
