About the position

As a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of cashiers while ensuring an exceptional customer service experience. Scheduling and overseeing meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements will be part of your duties, as well as assisting in the hiring and training of new cashiers. Your ability to take necessary disciplinary actions when required will also be a key aspect of your role. Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks.
  • Assist in resolving customer assistance issues at the register.
  • Assign store sweeps and monitor cash register supply levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots.
  • Monitor exit doors for security and loss prevention issues.
  • Schedule and oversee proper execution of meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements.
  • Assist in the hiring and training of new Cashiers and take necessary disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
  • Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to operate front end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
  • Good communication skills and ability to take direction/constructive criticism.
  • Ability to perform repetitious activities and multi-task effectively.
  • Must lift/carry products weighing up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, including cash handling and mathematical skills.
