About the position

Huntington University has an opening for Head Coach and Director of Esports. Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Information Technology, the Director will coach, plan, organize, recruit for, and coordinate the Huntington University Esports Program.

Responsibilities

• Coach and lead the Esports team.
• Plan and organize Esports events and activities.
• Recruit players for the Esports program.
• Coordinate the overall operations of the Esports program.

• Familiarity with a wide range of gaming titles currently played in collegiate esports.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, and trends related to Intercollegiate and competitive Esports.
• Understanding of conference philosophy, rules, and regulations regarding eligibility and recruiting.
• Knowledge of proper coaching and motivation techniques.
• High pedagogy of esports.
• Familiarity with promoting programs and events through online streaming platforms.
• Experience managing a Discord server.
• Knowledge of risk management and safety regulations.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building.
• Strong documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years of collegiate level experience preferred.

Benefits

• Part-time, non-exempt position, approx. 25 hours per week, 10-months per year.
