About the position
The Head Coach for Gymnastics at Snohomish School District is responsible for implementing and overseeing the gymnastics program for both Snohomish High School and Glacier Peak High School. This role involves developing athletes' fundamental skills, ensuring their eligibility, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. The coach will also manage equipment, maintain financial records, and foster sportsmanship and ethical behavior among participants.
Responsibilities
- Implement the gymnastics program for both Snohomish High School and Glacier Peak High School.
- Develop fundamental skills and understanding of gymnastics rules in participants.
- Model and foster cooperation, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior.
- Determine the system of play and develop strategies for the gymnastics program.
- Maintain a safe environment for participants and monitor their behavior.
- Issue and inventory equipment and maintain financial records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years or older.
- High School diploma required; Washington state teacher certification preferred.
- Previous successful coaching experience in gymnastics preferred.
- Familiarity with technical aspects of gymnastics.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification required.
