About the position

The Head Women's Flag Football Coach at Marian University is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Women's Flag Football program, ensuring compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as the sport transitions to a sanctioned status. This role emphasizes the recruitment of quality student-athletes, academic monitoring, in-game coaching, and the overall management of the program, including budgeting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a system to identify prospective student-athletes and work closely with club and high school coaches to recruit quality student-athletes.
  • Develop and implement a program that includes monitored academic progress in addition to performance.
  • Responsible for in-game coaching.
  • Organize and coordinate all team travel.
  • Responsible for scheduling all future contests.
  • Manage all assistant coaches within the program.
  • Manage and monitor the program budget under the direction of the Director of Athletics.
  • Conduct the program in compliance with all association rules and regulations and Marian University policies.
  • Assist the Sports Information Director with statistics, press releases, media guides, and other publications.
  • Assist in department fundraising activities.
  • Organize camps and clinics to promote the sport of flag football and create public interest and community involvement with the University.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by cooperating in a professional manner with the University community.
  • Coordinate practice and game schedules within the athletic department facilities calendar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Strong ability to recruit student athletes in the context of NCAA Division III philosophy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Successful intercollegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
  • Willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of the University.
