About the position

The Head Coach for Women's Lacrosse at Lake Erie College is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the women's lacrosse program, including recruitment, organization, and compliance with NCAA regulations. This full-time position requires strong leadership and management skills to foster a positive environment for student-athletes and promote the college's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes all aspects of the women's lacrosse program, including facility management, competition, practice schedules, and team operations.
  • Serves as the primary recruiter for the women's lacrosse program, identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes in collaboration with the Office of Admission.
  • Acts as an ambassador for the College, promoting its values and enhancing awareness among constituents.
  • Collaborates with the athletic department on promotional and fundraising efforts.
  • Ensures compliance with institutional, G-MAC, and NCAA regulations regarding women's lacrosse and athletics.
  • Makes budgetary suggestions for the operations and staffing of the program.
  • Promotes an inclusive educational environment that empowers student-athletes to achieve personal and professional success.
  • Builds and maintains successful relationships with alumni.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the director of athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Prior NCAA DII women's lacrosse playing or coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong team-building and management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across academic and administrative departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff and understand student-athletes' academic commitments.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.

  • Experience in fundraising and promotional activities for athletic programs.
