About the position

Mount Saint Mary College is seeking a Head Coach for Women's Soccer to lead and manage all aspects of the program. The role emphasizes the development of student-athletes both on the field and academically, ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations while fostering a positive team environment. The Head Coach will also be responsible for recruitment, scheduling, budgeting, and fundraising efforts to enhance the student-athlete experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize all aspects of the Women's Soccer program.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, Skyline Conference, and college regulations.
  • Develop training plans prioritizing the health and safety of student-athletes.
  • Hire and manage one part-time assistant coach.
  • Coordinate practice and competition schedules, team meetings, and daily communications with student-athletes.
  • Recruit qualified student-athletes in adherence to NCAA rules.
  • Work with Admissions and Financial Aid to guide prospective student-athletes through the admissions process.
  • Ensure retention and academic eligibility of all Women's Soccer student-athletes.
  • Manage the program's annual operating budget responsibly.
  • Develop a competitive Women's Soccer schedule in collaboration with the Director of Athletics.
  • Create and implement annual fundraising campaigns to enhance the student-athlete experience.
  • Manage equipment and uniforms in accordance with Athletic Department procedures.
  • Implement and execute a Women's Soccer summer camps program.
  • Represent the college at Skyline Conference and NCAA meetings.
  • Serve as Event Manager for home competitions of designated MSMC Athletics teams.
  • Maintain effective relationships with various college departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of collegiate or high school coaching experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and integrity.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to student-athlete success.
  • Ability to work independently and manage evening and weekend commitments.
