About the position

The Head Coach at Orangetheory Fitness is responsible for delivering engaging and scientifically designed workouts while managing the fitness staff and ensuring a positive studio environment. This role focuses on coaching, motivating clients in group settings, and contributing to the growth of the fitness community through marketing and outreach efforts. The Head Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall fitness experience for members and staff alike.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive, high-energy, and respectful studio environment.
  • Manage all aspects of the OTF fitness staff using the OTF business model.
  • Hire, train, and educate new OTF group personal coaches for success.
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of the training floor and studio areas.
  • Conduct marketing, community outreach, and studio in-reach to grow the business.
  • Build OTF attendance, retain clientele, and achieve monthly revenue budgets.
  • Manage the OTF training session schedule and the MBO system.
  • Follow up with new, current, and former OTF studio clients.
  • Review and coach personal training staff on program design and lesson plans.
  • Conduct monthly fitness staff meetings and attend mandatory corporate meetings.
  • Handle member concerns professionally and objectively.
  • Lead or instruct a minimum of 15 OTF training sessions per week, including weekends if needed.
  • Assist Sales Associates with studio tours and sales for new prospects.
  • Maintain current employee files for direct reports.
  • Ensure routine cleaning and functionality of fitness facility and equipment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in the fitness industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Exercise Science related field preferred.
  • Current fitness certification from an OTF approved education entity.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of heart rate focused training science.
  • Invest 10+ hours per year in external professional development.
