About the position

The Head, US Data Strategy and Governance is responsible for leading the Insights & Decision Science (IDS) data strategy across the Novartis US Enterprise. This role focuses on data prioritization, acquisition, and governance, managing the full data lifecycle from ingestion to information access. The leader will establish and manage data strategy, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards in the biopharma industry while driving new value creation through innovative partnerships and business models.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team responsible for the IDS data strategy across the Novartis US Enterprise.
  • Manage data prioritization and acquisition processes.
  • Establish and manage data governance and integration approaches.
  • Drive service delivery and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop multi-channel digital strategies to enhance customer engagement.
  • Coordinate efforts to operationalize the marketing vision and agenda.
  • Identify and develop capabilities for new value creation.
  • Maintain relationships and business partnerships for effective service provision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in data strategy and governance within pharma/life sciences.
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and operations in the US.
  • Proficiency in at least two commercial domains (e.g., General Management, Marketing, Sales).
  • Fluency in data strategy, governance, ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Expertise in vendor selection for commercial data sets (claims, EHR, etc.).
  • Proven people management skills with experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
