About the position

The Head, US Data Strategy and Governance is responsible for leading the Insights & Decision Science (IDS) data strategy across the Novartis US Enterprise. This role focuses on data prioritization, acquisition, and governance, managing the full data lifecycle from ingestion to information access. The leader will establish and manage data strategy, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards in the biopharma industry while driving new value creation through innovative partnerships and business models.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop and lead the marketing vision and agenda.
  • Coordinate efforts to operationalize the marketing agenda.
  • Enable business strategy and tactics for an excellent customer experience.
  • Drive new value creation through capability development and partnerships.
  • Develop multi-channel digital strategy to enhance customer engagement.
  • Leverage product life cycle capabilities to deliver integrated support solutions.
  • Identify and prioritize customization needs for service integration.
  • Drive service delivery and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage risk, compliance, productivity, retention, diversity, and associate engagement.
  • Collaborate on proposals for future business services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in data strategy and governance within pharma/life sciences.
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and operations in the US.
  • Proficiency in at least 2 commercial domains (e.g., General Management, Marketing, Sales).
  • Fluency in data strategy, governance, ethical & regulatory standards, and security management.
  • Expertise in vendor selection for commercial data sets (claims, EHR, etc.).
  • Proven people management skills with success in building high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, multifunctional team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in digital marketing and customer engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of emerging data technologies and analytics tools.
