About the position

The Head Football Coach at First Creek Middle School is responsible for instructing and guiding middle school athletes in football, focusing on skill development, strategy, and physical training. The role emphasizes promoting student learning through athletic participation, ensuring adherence to school and district policies, and fostering a positive and safe environment for all participants. The coach will organize practices, manage equipment, and communicate effectively with students and parents regarding program expectations and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises student athletes to promote effective student learning through participation in athletic activities.
• Plans, develops, and implements an effective program for the sport to prepare athletes physically and mentally for competitions.
• Organizes practice sessions that are stimulating and instructive, teaching fundamental skills and promoting good sportsmanship.
• Assumes responsibility for all phases of the program, including facility coordination and injury management.
• Informs students and parents of eligibility procedures and special rules for the sport.
• Establishes a system for issuing and maintaining equipment records, ensuring proper return and safety checks.
• Makes written recommendations regarding program improvements and assists in achieving athletic program objectives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of experience as an assistant coach.
• CPR Certification and First Aid Certification required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
