About the position

The Head Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for overseeing all levels and phases of the girls soccer program at Eisenhower Middle School. This part-time position involves ensuring compliance with Kansas State High School Activities Association rules, supervising student athletes, maintaining records, and organizing practice schedules. The coach will also develop training regimes, evaluate student performance, and ensure the safety and well-being of participants during practices and competitions.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all rules of the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
  • Supervise student athletes during all facets of participation, including competition travel, meetings, and practices.
  • Maintain records to comply with district, athletic conference, state, and KSHSAA requirements.
  • Verify that all candidates have completed necessary pre-participation physical exams and forms before practicing.
  • Ensure all transfer students meet KSHSAA eligibility requirements prior to participation.
  • Implement practice schedules and submit them to administration for efficient program operation.
  • Supervise practice sessions and maintain security of the locker room.
  • Report all injuries of participants to proper school officials and follow injury reporting policy.
  • Support and follow recommendations from athletic trainers regarding student safety and participation.
  • Organize a system for uniform and equipment checkout and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Maintain records of evaluation procedures used in the selection process and provide feedback to students.
  • Conduct and attend supporting activities for the assigned sport, such as league meetings and recognition events.
  • Develop team and individual practice regimes to enhance performance.
  • Evaluate facilities for potential hazards and recommend modifications to reduce injury risk.
  • Oversee coaching personnel and student managers, providing direction and monitoring activities.
  • Guide coaching personnel in instructional techniques and organization of practices.
  • Advise coaching personnel, parents, and athletes on expectations of good sportsmanship.
  • Monitor student athlete academic eligibility and provide interventions as needed.
  • Report team scores to media outlets and prepare public information releases as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Athletic Director.

Requirements

  • Certified teacher or qualify for Rule 10 certification through the Kansas State High School Activities Association.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Current certification in CPR and AED.
