About the position
As the Head Hostess at Enrique's Mexican Restaurant, you will be responsible for leading the host team and ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests. This role involves managing seating arrangements, training staff, and maintaining high customer service standards in a vibrant and upscale dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train the host team, fostering a positive work environment.
- Control the seating arrangement and monitor rotation to ensure optimal guest flow.
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Handle phone calls for reservations and call-ahead seating, ensuring accurate tracking and organization.
- Keep guests informed of wait times and manage expectations.
- Assist with planning for large parties and reservations, coordinating with kitchen and serving staff.
- Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure during high-volume service periods.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with guests, staff, and management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hostess role, ideally in a high-volume restaurant.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with guests and resolve conflicts calmly.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in reservation and call-ahead operations and protocols.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in customer service for at least 1 year.
- Knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
